The
GUAVA Records Ltd. Manifesto:
1. Musical artists require an outlet for their creativity and product.
2. The "Commercial Music Industry" is only interested in making $$$, and could care less about artists and
their artistic vision.
3. Unless the music consumer is brainwashed by the constant bombardment of repetition thru
television and the radio, musical artists cannot get the exposure they require to build their audience, and distribute their
product.
4. Let's face it, no one cares about non - commercial music or is willing to take a chance on new
and compelling music created by artists who are not concerned about making $$$ or winning popularity contests.
5.
Sure, we'd all like to be filthy rich as artists from the music we create, but we all realize, it won't happen in
this lifetime.
6. That's why GUAVA Records was created - "Groovy Underground Audio Visual Arts" -
as a creative outlet for those artists who create "art for art's sake" or "music for music's sake".
GUAVA Records gives the artist total artistic and creative control over their music and also their product.
7.
Since no one cares about non - commercial music or is willing to take a chance on new and compelling music, all GUAVA Records
releases are of a "limited edition" nature - that is, we only make 5 to 13 copies of each release, since we realize
the only consumers who will appreciate our efforts are our close friends, who, mostly are also artists who also create music
and art of a "non - commercial" nature.
8. GUAVA Records publicity is basically done through "word
of mouth" and "the chosen few", who receive these limited edition cd releases, and in turn, turn on other people
to new and compelling music. thus expanding the listening audience for "the smallest label in the world."
9. Once these limited edition releases are gone, unless there is an overwhelming demand from the music consuming public for
a particular release, we will not repress any product. Hence our motto, "Once They're Gone..."
10.
GUAVA Records creates compelling music at an affordable price to the music consumer.
